The Shearer’s Quarters at Woodfield, has to be one of the quirkiest, homely places to stay along the trail.

The accommodation is embedded with a long history dating back to the 1870’s where Rabbit Hunters, Shearers, Cooks and workers would live and stay at this working farm that was originally thousands of acres.

The cottages have been restored, there is a common kitchen, male and female bathroom amenities and a fantastic camp fire area.

The rooms are clean, simple and rustic and at $45 per night including breakfast it is the most affordable accommodation along the trail.

The Quarters sleep 13 in total but there is always heaps of room for tents or camper vans as well.

The Shearer’s Quarters are located right opposite the trail on the right hand side, exactly 10kms north of Merton.

If you are looking for an Authentic Australian experience with an historical Aussie feel or traveling with a group, we highly recommend this unique and charming place.

The Accommodation is pet friendly and is ideal for horse riders and bike riders
